I'M DAVID,

It's been 32 years since I walked the graduation stage at the prestigious Detroit Center for Creative Studies, College of Art and Design. And I have been a working digital content creator since graduating with a BFA in photography and specializing in video production. As a filmmaker, I have received numerous regional and national awards for my work. These awards include being nominated 11 times for the NATAS Detroit Chapter Emmy Awards and receiving 4 Emmy Awards to date. I have worked with major corporations, including Ford Motor, Siemans, Detroit International  Art Museum, Michigan Holocaust Museum, Express Recruiting Services and the National Basketball Association, to name a few.   Now in New Mexico, I continue to be a digital content creator, filmmaker, author, and painter based in Santa Fe. Surrounded by blue-bird skies, colorful mesas, and ever-changing light that bounces off the desert floor, this is my paradise. When working, I constantly chase the light, shadows, shapes,  and colors that can change in a second. Most of my work is in either format of black and white digital acquisition or 35mm and 120mm film negatives that I scan and process. My southwest landscape photography and paintings include the whole spectra of the desert palette for viewers to embrace. I keep my equipment very simple and unobtrusive. Some of my favorite cameras are those from the 1970's and 80's, and yes I still shoot with  Super 8 film cameras and I love my toy cameras like the Holga and Diana. It's never about the technology but rather my interaction with the subject and making true connections.  I hope you enjoy my work and thank you for your support David T Scott
